2. Product Information:
Frequently asked questions about ‘real’ chocolate
a. What is the best way to store real chocolate?
The optimum storage temperature for ‘real’ chocolates should be between 15-20ºC with low humidity. In order to maintain the freshness of Choko la chocolates, we recommend that you store the chocolates in a cool dry cupboard away from heat or light source and any perfumed items such as soaps, spices etc. since chocolate tends to absorb these fragrances.
b. Can I store chocolate in the refrigerator?
Only refrigerate in extreme weather conditions, in which case place in an airtight container or double wrap and place in the bottom section of the fridge where it is not too cold. The chocolates should be slowly brought back to room temperature before unpacking and consumption.
c. Why do chocolates get white spots?
If chocolate is exposed to temperature fluctuations, the chocolate may get white spots also known as ‘fat bloom’. This also happens if chocolate melts and is reset in the refrigerator. The chocolate is still edible, but the quality and texture will be compromised. Chocolate storage is essential to avoid a ‘fat bloom’.
d. Does the best chocolate have the highest cocoa content?
Not always. The key to producing premium quality chocolate is to achieve a balance of flavours and fine textures from the cocoa beans and the manufacturing process is very important in making ‘real’ chocolate. Very high cocoa content tends to make chocolate quite unpalatable. Years of manufacturing experience and a commitment to using only the finest quality Belgian chocolate and employing international manufacturing techniques, enables Choko la to continue producing well balanced, real chocolate.
e. What is the difference between Real and Pure chocolate and 'Compound'?
High quality, gourmet, premium & fine dark chocolate typically consists simply of cocoa (cocoa solids and cocoa butter), sugar (preferably cane sugar), natural vanilla (not Vanillin) and sometimes soya lecithin (a natural emulsifier). It should contain no less than about 50% cocoa, depending on the use, between 55% and 75% cocoa content is ideal. Pure chocolate is made of about 55 to 75% cocoa content out of which cocoa butter constitutes atleast 25-30% giving it a smooth, viscous and rich texture.
Compound on the other hand is made of cocoa solids upto 45-50%, sugar and hydrogenated vegetable fats and contains less than 20% or less than and in some cases no cocoa butter at all.
Hence the product is not termed as " chocolate" and lacks the luster, texture and smooth richness of real and Pure chocolate. Look out for "cocoa butter" in the list of ingredients the next time you want to treat yourself to a wholesome experience of real chocolate.
f. Does chocolate contain caffeine?
Yes, negligible amounts…ex flavours found in real chocolate.
g. Does chocolate contain soya?
Yes it does but only as a stabilizing agent and hence might not pose as a major allergen
h. What is the best way to store real chocolate?
Is chocolate egg free?
3. Return Policy:
a. Who bears the postal charges for the goods returned?
Customer has to check the product at the time of delivery and if there is any damage to the product at the time of delivery, the same will be returned back by CKPL and replacement will be done within 48 Hrs without any additional delivery charges from the customer. This is to make clear that CKPL will not accept the return once the customer accepts the delivery.
b. Oops, the product I received is a different product than the one I ordered. How to return?
We do have a very rigorous checks in place during our dispatch process but at times a few hitches might go unnoticed. All you need to do is, just return the product back to the delivery boy immediately at the time of delivery and we will send you the replacement.
4. Privacy Policy:
a. What is your privacy policy?
We respect your right to privacy. At Chokola we collect only the information necessary for us to complete your order or to contact you regarding the status of your order. The information we collect includes your name, email address, shipping address, and billing address. Chokola does not store your credit card or online bank account information.
Chokola will not rent or sell your name or your personal information. It reserves the right to update this privacy policy at anytime.
b. Does Chokola store my information?
Chokola only stores information uploaded by you during the registration. No transaction information such as credit card details, etc. are stored in our database. These details are directly imputed by you into the bank payment gateways which are completely secure. Chokola does not handle this sensitive data or store it in any way.
5. Shipping:
a. What are the shipping charges?
Delivery charges Rs 150.
b. What are your shipping charges for bulk orders?
For bulk orders / customized orders, we will look for the most efficient mode of transport and charge our customers only for the minimum fare applicable. Depending on the location of the customer and the urgency of the shipment, we would work out the best shipment rates available and charge our customers accordingly. The same will be discussed with the customer before hand and will seek customer’s approval before execution of order.

6. Refund Policy:
a. If I have placed the order and want to modify or cancel the same, what is the procedure?
The online order once placed cannot be modified or cancelled either through the website or offline by calling CKPL. However you can get updated on the status of the order by calling CKPL. In case the order which is paid through credit card is cancelled due to non availability of the ordered product, the amount will be returned by reversing the transaction by CKPL. The same would reflect in the next credit card statement.
